Costco Wholesale

San Francisco, CA

Site: 132,000 sf     No. Stories: 3 stories

As the first Costco Wholesale to be developed in an urban location, the 5.2-acre block parcel, located within the South of Market district, accommodates a warehouse of 132,000 sf and parking for 800 cars. In order to balance the functional requirements of parking and retail, the warehouse is located on the second level, thereby maximizing parking efficiency on the street level. The look of the building captures the character of a classic industrial warehouse, with vertical bay articulation, patterned concrete masonry, galvanized metal grilles, and ornamental work.
