Hornblower Niagara Falls Cruises
Niagara Falls Cruises is a winning competition entry for the design of the Canadian Niagara Falls boat tour’s landside facilities under the jurisdiction of the Niagara Parks Commission. The design creates an inviting entry and boarding areas, a visitor’s center, and a private riverside event space for Hornblower.
The design is comprised of an entry pavilion located on a top plateau and boat landing facilities located adjacent to the Niagara River and Falls. Housing both the ticket and information booth buildings, the entry pavilion is covered by three fabric structures, which not only provides protection for people waiting in line but also becomes a visual gateway icon for visitors.
At the river level, guests find the boat landing facilities, a visitor pavilion, embarkation pavilion, and event center. The event center housed in an existing brick building and contain a café, interpretative displays, special events spaces, restrooms, lockers and storage space. There is a large exterior deck on the second level where visitors can dine and have a spectacular view of Niagara Falls. The facilities are designed to accommodate special events for large groups both in the daytime and in the evening.
