Khairi grew up practicing charcoal drawing and printmaking with an emphasis on landscape and architecture before he fully understood the depth of architecture. Wanting to explore more of what defines architecture and design, he decided to studied architecture at the #3 school for architecture; Syracuse University School of Architecture, where he was offered a comprehensive and intellectually challenging approach to the design-built environment that recognized the mix of art and technology. While there he explored digital fabrication in aspects of 3D printing, CNC Milling, and Laser cutting for the use of exploration of design and model making. In his spare time, he, enjoys mentoring and teaching the younger generation about how they can make architecture and design as possible future. His software skills include AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, 3ds Max, Maya, Fusion 360, Sketch-Up, Rhino, Lumion, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Prior to joining Heller Manus, Khairi worked in a multi-disciplinary firm specializing in urban design, planning, and architectural solutions in challenging contexts on the East Coast. Khairi is currently working towards getting LEED AP BD+C certified and acquiring his architectural license.
