Description >>
UC Berkeley Earl Warren Hall
This 70,000-square-foot multi-purpose building is a part of the University of California SAFER program for the Berkeley campus. Located on a prominent site at the northwest corner of the campus, the three-story structure houses programs relocated from other campus buildings as they undergo seismic retrofit. As a result, the building is intended to maximize flexibility to accommodate the various short-term tenants who will occupy it over the years. Aside from the seismic considerations, the building is located on a challenging site. The design was developed to preserve existing foliage, regarded as an intrinsic part of the neighborhood’s character.
