911 Emergency Communications Center

Located at the center of Jefferson Square Park, in San Francisco’s Civic Center district, the Emergency Communications Center (911 Center) contains 55,000 square feet of dispatch, training, support, and administrative space. A combination of zinc roofing, Solex plus laminated and bullet resistant glass, and white porcelain panels address security concerns while providing a light-filled environment for city employees with 70 spaces of below-grade parking. The 911 Center is designed as an essential service facility, with building systems that can accommodate everyday emergencies as well as Zone 5 seismic events. A Computer-Aided Dispatch/Records Management System (CAD/RMS) provides 911 call evaluation and dispatch for police, fire, parking, traffic, and emergency medical services. The building also houses the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Services, the Emergency Command Center, and related support facilities for the Department of Electricity and Telecommunications.
