Wuhan Changjiang New Town

Wuhan Yangtze River New City is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Wuhan, Hubei Province, northeast of the main city. The Yangtze River New City will optimize a new spatial pattern with the Wuhan city center and the Yangtze River axis. The aim is to promote the development of the new city area, even the hinterland of Wuhan through disintegrating the centralized non-provincial core functions and reconstructing the urban pattern of the entire Central China region. The plan proposes a unique river focus in the city of Sanshui. One of the major goals of the project is to adopt sustainable practices as an important guiding system for green planning and construction and build a planning system for developing an ecocity and smart city. Comprehensive control of urban development is achieved by setting development intentions for each category, controlling indicators during the planning period, and planning for long-term goals.
